In May 2026, the national science academies of the G7 countries (United States, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Canada, and the United Kingdom) issued three joint “S7” statements to inform the G7 summit in Évian and guide policymaking with science-based advice.
The statements cover
- Global Arctic;
- Large satellite constellations in low- and medium-Earth orbits;
- Brain health.
Our colleague François Baccelli, in his capacity as a member of the Académie des Sciences, took part in this expert meeting and contributed as an advisor to the statement on large satellite constellations.
