Lab’s life on June 2024

Landmark events

June was a notably busy and exiting month for us. Besides our regular activities, we organized the first LINCS PhD Student Day as well as our annual workshop, which brought together the LINCS scientific community and its Scientific Committee. These events were complemented by the launch of the new IMT national center: Networks and Systems for Digital Transformation, which involve some LINCS members.

Event recap of the PhD Student Day

Supporting our PhD students is crucial for nurturing their talent and ensuring the success of their research. That is why we are very pleased with the success of our first LINCS PhD Student Day, which took place on June 12 at Pavillon Réciproque, the wooden structure in front of the main entrance of Télécom Paris.

The purpose of this day was to provide our PhD students with an opportunity to present their work, learn about each others research, and receive valuable feedback from senior members of our lab. Also, this served as practice for those who would be presenting at the upcoming LINCS annual workshop in front of the Scientific Committee, scheduled for June 27th and 28th

The program included an Elevator Pitch session, during which each participating PhD student had three minutes to present their work, followed by a Q&A session, then a brainstorming session, followed by poster session. The audience consisted of fellow PhD students, postdocs, senior members, and interns.

After a morning of scientific activities and a lunch together, our afternoon was filled with team-building exercises at Aventure Floraval amusement park. We kicked off with an Archery Battle between two teams, and later everyone enjoyed tree climbing and navigating the adventure courses.

So, thank you to the PhD students Ahmad Nasser, Emma Caizergues, Shashwat Mishra (Nokia Bell Labs), Amal Sakr, Mohammed Abdoullah, Jorge Mirande, Rosario Patané, Wei Huang, Weichen Tao (IMT), and Alexandre Pham, Guillaume Nibert, Hugo Rimlinger et Mohamed Amine Lagheraba (Sorbonne Université) for participating in the event!

Also, we would like to thank everyone who provided feedback to help enhance the next edition of this LINCS PhD Day.

Event recap of the Annual Workshop with the Scientific Committee

As is our tradition at this time of the year, we have just concluded the 2024 edition of the annual LINCS workshop, with the participation of the Scientific Committee members, which took place on June 27&28.

This year’s program, featured 8 scientific highlights, 3 surveys, 8 elevator pitches by our PhD students, and an equal number of posters. Furthermore, each of the 5 Scientific Committee members gave a talk, which added further value to the event.

We had a deeply enjoyable experience, both scientifically and personally, and you will soon find the recordings of the talks on the event page of the LINCS website.

Meanwhile, we can enjoy some photos capturing moments from the conferences, the poster session and reception cruise on the Seine.
