Lab’s Life on February 2026

Hello everyone!

February has already gone by so fast. After the immersive seminar held at the end of 2025, exchanges have since continued actively, and we look forward to meeting on March 12 to follow up on the research strategy for the next two years.

As a reminder, since this month, the weekly seminar talk has been held on Thursdays (2–3?pm) instead of Wednesdays.

Also, there will be no talks on February 26 and March 5 due to the school holidays.

March 12 – Scientific Strategy Session : Follow-Up to the Members Retreat

Please, save the date of this meeting were we will share the outcomes of the immersive LINCS workshop on December 17–18. We will present the thematic areas in detail and discuss possible extensions, in order to collectively shape the organization of our laboratory’s future activities.

May21 – Ph.D Student Day

Please, save the date of the 2026 edition of this event entirely dedicated to the PhD Students and Postdocs of the lab, and it consist of a part with elevator pitches, posters and brainstorming, a friendly lunch and a team-building activity held outdoors.

The purpose of this day is to provide our students and junior researchers with an opportunity to present their work, learn about the research of their peers, and receive valuable feedback from senior members of the LINCS.

Newcomers

Elif Ebru Ohri as a Ph.D Student (Sorbonne University)

Elif Ebru OhriElif is a doctoral researcher at LIP6 laboratory within the NPA (Networks and Performance Analysis) team. She obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering from Galatasaray University in Turkey and a Master’s degree in Cloud and Network Infrastructures from Sorbonne Université.

Her research investigates spatio-temporal approaches for digital twin synchronization, with a focus on intelligent orchestration of resources.

By leveraging deep reinforcement learning, she develops adaptive frameworks that minimize the Age of Information (AoI) and optimize synchronization fidelity between physical assets and their virtual counterparts, addressing the dynamic and evolving constraints of resource-limited IoT environments and large-scale immersive systems such as the metaverse.

Alessandro Genovese as a Visiting Ph.D Student (Télécom SudParis)

Alessandro GenoveseAlessandro is a PhD student at the University of Catania (IT), where he also obtained both his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Computer Engineering.

His research focuses on distributed systems within the Edge-Cloud Continuum, with a particular emphasis on designing AI-driven techniques for autonomous decision-making and resource management for microservice-based applications. His work aims to ensure Quality of Service (QoS) and cost efficiency.
