The lecture will focus on the paper written by Zheng Wang and Scott Rose, which deals with the allocation of DNS servers by taking energy consumption into account while maintaining a satisfying quality of service. The authors have devised an analytical mathematical optimisation model that takes into account network and query processing delays, and energy costs, in order to minimise revenue losses without affecting quality of service. We will examine the proposed model and optimisation strategy, as well as the results they obtained.
