Landmark events

March was a particularly dynamic month, marked by numerous new initiatives. We had the pleasure of hosting seminars led by speakers from Télécom Paris, researchers from partner organizations, as well as international guests. This month also provided the opportunity to take a first step towards integrating LINCS seminars with those organized as part of the PEPR Réseaux du Futur.

Thus, we also had the pleasure of hosting an innovative seminar distinguished by its cross-disciplinary approach, addressing the ethical, societal, and environmental implications of computer science research. This event sparked strong participation, with lively exchanges and discussions that continued long after the presentation in the Hedy Lamarr room, over a friendly snack of coffee, tea, and Norman tart. We love that.

Workshop on AI, Networks & Cybersecurity, April 22&23, 2025, Campus Les Cordeliers, Paris

Jointly organised by Lincs, Sorbonne University et Grifin (ANR), we are pleased to announce this two-days workshop which will take place on April 22 & 23, 2025, in Sorbonne University, Les Cordeliers campus, 15 rue de l’École-de-médecine, 75006 Paris.

PhD Student Day, June 25, 2025

As last year, we plan to organize a day dedicated to our PhD students, consisting of a morning with elevator pitches, posters and brainstorming, followed by a convivial lunch and a team-building activity.

We would be delighted if you could attend and encourage your students to prepare and participate. Please, SAVE THE DATE : June 25, 2025.

The purpose of this day is to provide our students an opportunity to present their work, learn about the research of their peers, and receive valuable feedback from senior members of our lab.

Additionally, this event will serve as practice for those who will be presenting at the upcoming Annual workshop in front of the scientific committee, scheduled for July 10 &11.
I am taking all suggestions concerning the team-building activity. Please, don’t hesitate to reack out if you have a brilliant idea !

NEWCOMERS

Emanuele Mengoli

Emanuele has started his PhD at Telecom Paris and Inria Paris within the MATHNET team, where he focus in stochastic modeling for wireless networks under the supervision of Professor François Baccelli. He holds a Master’s degree in Computer Science from École Polytechnique. Before joining us, Emanuele completed his Master’s thesis at EPFL in the Information and Network Dynamics Lab, working under the guidance of Professor Patrick Thiran.

Massimo Gollo

Massimo is a third-year PhD student at the University of Catania, Italy, who is here visiting. As part of the industrial PhD program supported by Aucta Cognitio s.r.l., his research focuses on optimizing the performance of cloud-native and microservice-based applications. His work aims to develop an AI-driven decision-support system to enhance operations and resource management in software distributed systems, with an emphasis on SLA-aware strategies and Kubernetes-based orchestration.

Giovanni Calabrò

Giovanni is currently Research Fellow at the Department of Electrical, Electronic and Computer Engineering of the University of Catania. He obtained the Ph.D. in Transportation Engineering with a dissertation on the « Adaptive Transit design and operation via agent-based simulations and analytical models » and worked at the Department for the EU Policies and Structural Funds of the Municipality of Catania with the qualification of Technical Project Manager – Mobility expert. Currently, Giovanni’s research focuses on the prediction of traffic flows on a road network through Machine Learning, and he joined us as visiting researcher at Télécom SudParis, where he’s working on AI-driven simulation of Demand-Responsive Transport services. Member of the Italian Association for Traffic and Transport Engineering (AIIT) since 2019, he published several peer-reviewed papers in international journals and conference proceedings (Scopus H-index = 9).
