We’ve been so caught up in new and exciting projects that we haven’t had the chance to stop and wish you a wonderful 2024! Please accept our belated wishes !

Recap on the International Workshop on RIS

Prof. François Baccelli (Inria) and Dr. Marco Di Renzo (CentraleSupélec) organised the International Workshop on RIS, which took place on February 22&23 at the Amphi Rose Dieng-Kuntz in Palaiseau.

If you missed it and you still want to know what you missed, here are the program and the videos of all preseentations : https://www.lincs.fr/international-workshop-on-ris-feb-22-23-2024/.

We are pleased to announce that the event has been a great success, both in terms of attendance and, particularly, in terms of interactivity with an engaged and challenging audience.

We express a heartfelt thank you to the brilliant speakers who graciously agreed to come from all over Europe and present their work on RIS and to all the participants who traveled to Palaiseau to join us. We hope this gathering serves as a springboard for future collaborations.

We made a post on LinkedIn:(https://www.linkedin.com/feed/update/urn:li:activity:7167908630120370176).

It would be great if you could connect to your account and leave a reaction and share it!

Lincs newcomers

Gregory Blanc

Gregory is a new associated member of LINCS. He is associate professor in networks and cybersecurity at Telecom SudParis and he is supervising Solayman Ayoubi, jointly with Prof. Sébastien Tixeuil. His research interest include network intrusion detection and attack mitigation, as well as the application of machine learning (ML) to these problems, to improve their robustness. He is willing to participate in discussions on the application of ML to network-related problems and share his knowledge about cybersecurity.

Ufuk Bombar

Ufuk is a software development engineer who is working in Timur Fredman’s Team at LIP6 (Sorbonne University). He is a Master’s student and he does its internship with Nokia Bell Labs. He is a Computer Science enjoyer. He likes to develop distributed applications and tinker with Kubernetes, he is currently interested in WASM in edge computing. Outside of work, he is interested in cycling and piano.

Luis Muñecas Tomás

As part of Luis academic program, he is currently undertaking an internship at Nokia, where he will be working on the development of distributed quantum algorithms to be implemented in a future quantum network. Passionate of the quantum world, he aims to contribute to the advancement and improvement of quantum networks, exploring their potential applications, such as Quantum Key Distribution, pushing the boundaries of quantum computing research.

Loredana Gruosso

Loredana is a graduating student in Communication and Computer Network Engineering at the Polytechnic University of Turin. Loredana is gearing up for an internship focusing on Edge Computing and augmented reality for the « augmented technician. » During the internship, she will study and implement solutions for distributed computation and resource access within Edge systems. Loredana will work on real 5G networks hosted by the Telecom Paris lab and on distributed orchestration systems like Kubernetes, aiming to evaluate a prototype deployed on a 5G network.’

Arianna Bonazza

Arianna is a M2 student in Applied and Theoretical Mathematics at Université Paris Dauphine – PSL and Università degli Studi di Padova, Italy. As part of her master’s thesis, she is currently undertaking an internship at Swapcard Corporation SAS, working on adaptive algorithms to improve the quality of recommendation engines based on the one-armed bandits framework.

Recap of the annual meeting of PEPR – Future Networks

Many LINCS members will be in Grenoble presenting their projects at the PEPR – Future Networkds annual meeting. LINCS director Daniel Kofman will be there as a co-director representing IMT, together with Serge Verdeyme representing CNRS and Dimitri Ktenas representing CEA.

Gérard Memmi act as a scientific pilot for the targeted project « NAI », focusing on Network and Infrastructure Architectures and Network-Cloud-Sensing Convergence, with Marceau Coupechoux and Leonardo Linguaglossa in his team. François Baccelli will serve as a scientific pilot, the targeted project « FOUND », focusing on Foundations of Future Communication Networks, with Laurent Creusefond and Guodong Sun in his team. Philippe Martins is one of the scientific pilots for the targeted project « FPING », focusing on the French Testbed Network for Next-Generation Mobile Communications. Andrea Araldo is as a member of two projects « MUST » focusing on End-to-end multi domain services management architecture of the future, and « JEN », focusing on mobile networks users tailored. Joaquin Garcia-Alfaro participate in the projet « HI-Sec », focusing on Cybersecurity for the networks of the future.

We are extremely proud that LINCS plays such a fundamental role in shaping these strategic issues that will position France at the forefront of future network technologies.
