Abstract
We present the work of Mairesse and Prabakhar on the existence of fixed points for infinite tandems of queues with i.i.d. service times. We will first introduce the formalism of queueing maps in a general setting, before presenting the main results on both existence and uniqueness of fixed points for these queueing maps. We will also discuss the range of means of service times for which such fixed points exist.
