SUMMARY:From O-RAN Deployment to Experimentation: Building a real-time 5G
 testbed and Web-based control platform
DESCRIPTION:The Open Radio Access Network (O-RAN) is transforming mobile
 networks by introducing open interfaces\, disaggregated architectures\, and
 programmability. By reducing dependence on proprietary solutions\, O-RAN
 enables greater interoperability\, flexibility\, and intelligent network
 optimization\, making it a promising research direction for 5G and 6G
 systems.\nHowever\, deploying O-RAN in practice presents significant
 challenges\, particularly in hardware-software integration\,
 synchronization\, and real-time performance monitoring. Beyond establishing
 a functional network\, researchers also need flexible experimental
 environments to observe network behavior\, control traffic scenarios\, and
 collect performance measurements.\nTo address these challenges\, we have
 developed an end-to-end O-RAN testbed based on OpenAirInterface and
 commercial radio equipment\, extending it into a web-based experimentation
 platform that integrates network monitoring\, traffic control\, and
 experimental data management.\nThis platform not only facilitates O-RAN
 experimentation but also provides a foundation for future research on RAN
 Intelligent Controllers (RIC)\, xApp development\, and AI-driven
 closed-loop optimization\, moving toward more autonomous and intelligent
 radio access networks.
